Oneish browser extension help

Oneish for Chrome sits on the right edge of LinkedIn and slides open when you need it.

Install it

The extension will be available from the Chrome Web Store. When it is ready, you will find the link in Oneish after you sign in.

Open it

  1. Open LinkedIn. Oneish sits on the right edge of the page: click it to open your workspace.
  2. Choose “Connect”, then confirm on the Oneish page that opens.
  3. Press “Start using Oneish”. Your profile is linked the first time you open it.
  4. Hid it? Click the Oneish icon in the Chrome toolbar to show it again.

Recording on, Pause and Off

  • Recording on: your own profile and posts are recorded as you open them, also when you move between pages and scroll. The toolbar icon and the Oneish rail show that recording is on.
  • Pause: nothing is read until you resume.
  • Off: nothing is read from LinkedIn pages. You can type your figures or import your archive instead.

The extension reads only what is already on your screen: your follower and connection totals, and your own recent posts and their figures when they are shown. Posts by other people, including reposts, are never saved as yours, and figures it has already saved are not saved twice. When you open a post and ask it to read the people on it, it keeps only who visibly engaged (name, headline, profile link and degree).

If the panel shows a different profile

Oneish records one profile: the one you confirmed as yours. If a page belongs to another profile, or the browser is signed in to a different LinkedIn account, the panel says so and nothing is saved.

To switch to another profile, request the change in the panel or in Settings → Source profile, then confirm it in Oneish. Your earlier figures are kept for export and deletion, but no longer shown in charts.

What it never does

  • It never clicks, scrolls or opens pages by itself, and it reads nothing while paused or off.
  • It never reads your messages or a page you did not open. On a post you open and ask it to read, it keeps the post's visible text and the people who visibly engaged with it (name, headline, profile link, degree). On your Connections list, when you open it, it keeps each connection's name, headline, profile link and the day you connected.
  • It does not ask for access to your browsing history, other websites or your cookies.

Permissions it asks for

  • Storage: to remember your settings and what is waiting to be saved.
  • Side panel: to show Oneish next to the page.
  • Identity: to connect the extension to your Oneish account securely.
  • Alarms: to retry saving later if the connection drops.

Disconnect or delete

Disconnect the extension in Settings → Connected browser, and delete what it saved in Settings → Privacy and data. Without the extension you can still type your figures in yourself.
